The existing villa and the surrounding park constitutes a strong entity in the current urban setting. However, it remains a fragment of the past in the now dense residential neighborhood. The extension is placed on the North side of the building in order to maintain the representative appearance of the villa as well as to preserve a maximum of the park. Lower in height, but larger than the original building, the new extension forms a transition between the urban texture and the historic ensemble. The contemporary appearance of the extension contrasts with the historic notion of the inventory.
